On May 4, 2025, Congregation Ahavas Shalom, Newark’s oldest still-operating synagogue, honored Partner Adam Saravay with its Tikkun Olam award. The words “tikkun olam” mean “repairing the world” in Hebrew, and are often used to refer to social justice efforts. Saravay was recognized by the Congregation as an individual working to repair “our corner of the world,” based on his contributions to the New Jersey community representing survivors of domestic violence as they seek justice, serving on the board of trustees of Partners, advising charitable organizations on employment issues, and submitting friend-of-the-court briefs to the New Jersey Supreme Court on behalf of various non-profit groups. Saravay received the award at a ceremony at the synagogue, where he and other community members were recognized for their service.
