Michael Guariglia speaks with The Associated Press to discuss the income tax landscape on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) payments as lawmakers continue to consider state income tax breaks for NIL income. Michael told AP, “Carson Beck — did he go to (Miami) just to avoid Georgia income tax?” said Michael Guariglia, an attorney with McCarter & English in New Jersey who has worked with colleges on NIL. “I think it was more important to him to get the assurances that he was going to be their starting quarterback.
