Our distinguished panelists discussed the multiple and overlapping ways in which the consequences of an arrest, conviction, and criminal record impact people’s live sand disproportionately impact the lives of people of color. These impacts require thoughtful, policy-driven responses, and they are deeply personal: everyone has a role to play in ensuring that the criminal justice system functions fairly and that community reintegration is meaningfully available.
