The portrait of Justice William Strong, which hung in Judge Robreno’s Courtroom in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia throughout his tenure on the bench, is being returned to Berks County where Justice Strong practiced law prior to his appointment as an Associate Justice to the United State Supreme Court. The portrait will be unveiled at the Reading U.S. District Court in Reading, Berks County, where Judge Jeffrey L. Schmehl currently presides. The portrait inspired Judge Robreno to learn about Justice Strong and no jury sat in Judge Robreno’s courtroom without being regaled by the Judge with the many contributions of Justice Strong to the law and to the public good, always duly noting the Justice’s ties to Berks county. Judge Robreno will present to Berks County’s chapter of the American Inns of Court, which is named for Justice Strong, a program on Justice Strong’s exceptional life and his many years of public service.
