Discussing how far a lawyer can reasonably argue that a particular court is the right place to litigate, Matt noted that judge-shopping likely is not “much of a problem in the grand scheme of civil litigation because you can’t just arbitrarily pick a judicial district because you think you might be advantaged by that.” He added, “Defendants are not just powerless and stuck or trapped in a particular court.”
