Former President Trump’s return to the White House for a second term may have significant and early impact on employers. Hugh Murray, Chair of McCarter’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, spoke with the American City Business Journals about how businesses are likely to have a significantly harder time hiring and retaining skilled foreign workers in the years to come. “Although much of the political rhetoric concerns undocumented immigrants, the processes for high-skilled legal immigrants were severely constricted in 2017 to 2020,” Hugh said. “We expect that immigration at all levels will become more difficult.”
