Alexandra Jones is an experienced patent professional representing clients in diverse areas of technology, including the fields of cellular and molecular biology, oncology, immunology, microbiology, genetic engineering, stem cells, antibody therapeutics, pharmaceuticals and biochemistry. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Technology Specialist for over seven years at mid-sized Boston law-firms, where she worked on patent matters for clients from small and large companies and academic institutions. Alexandra has experience with both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, patent validity opinions, freedom-to-operate opinions and due diligence evaluations of patent portfolios.
Prior to starting her legal career, Alexandra worked as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the Biotechnology and Chemistry Technology Center. She received her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tufts University School of Medicine. Alexandra did her Post-Doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute in the Oncogenetics Section of the Mammary Biology and Tumorigenesis Laboratories. Her other prior positions include the Oncology Discovery Group of Wyeth Research. Alexandra has written a pre-doctoral training grant funded by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command, and has presented her work at numerous conferences and published in several journals, including Oncogene, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Cancer Research and Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
