Clients rely on Candee Wilde to defend their interests in environmental litigation and advise them on environmental risks associated with transactions and brownfields development.

Candee litigates on natural resource damages and statutory contribution matters as well as cost recovery and related private cost allocation actions under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. She has represented clients concerning large, multi-party Superfund sediment sites and matters involving a variety of contaminants including dioxins, PCBs, and PFAS.

Candee helps clients to evaluate and manage environmental liabilities related to the acquisition, development, financing and sale of environmentally impacted real estate properties and businesses. She negotiates underlying transactional documents and regulatory agreements, advises on brownfield redevelopment and remediation issues, and negotiates and manuscripts specialty lines insurance products, including pollution legal liability products. Candee also advises clients on compliance with state environmental statutes, including New Jersey’s Industrial Site Recovery Act.

Active in various professional and civic organizations, Candee serves as the Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Environmental American Inn of Court, which promotes professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence within environmental law.

Various Clients—Environmental insurance 

Negotiated and manuscripted pollution legal liability products on behalf of developers, corporations, and lenders.

Various Clients—Environmental transactional and regulatory compliance

Advised clients on the purchase and sale of contaminated real estate and impacted businesses as well as compliance with transaction-triggered environmental laws. Provided regulatory counseling to corporations and developers involved in the remediation of brownfield properties, including regulatory submissions and redevelopment and remediation issues. Negotiated settlements of environmental liability disputes, including liability under ISRA. Provided environmental permitting guidance for various businesses, including landfill and energy projects.

Represented one client in connection with the Lower Fox River Superfund Site and in defense of NCR Corporation v. Whiting Paper Co. and United States v. NCR Corporation.

Represented a number of clients in connection with the Centredale Manor Restoration Project Superfund Site (Woonasquatucket River) and in defense of Emhart v. United States.

Various Clients—Environmental litigation matters

Represent a number of clients in connection to the Lower Passaic River Superfund Site. including defending clients in Occidental Chemical Corporation v. 21st Century Fox America, Inc., et al., in which Occidental Chemical Corporation is seeking cost recovery and contribution under CERCLA from more than 100 defendants.
