Charles Rattner focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution and counseling clients on portfolio management in the fields of mechanical and electro-mechanical apparatus, electronic circuitry, bio-medical devices, optics, laser technology, and computer hardware and software both domestically and abroad. He has extensive experience in all aspects of legal opinion drafting, conducting prior art searches, patentability assessment, portfolio strategy, and product clearance.
Charles has more than three decades of intellectual property experience. He has drafted 500+ original patent applications and assisted in the drafting and prosecution of more than 2000 patent applications. Prior to joining McCarter & English, he supported Fortune 100 companies on the management of electrical engineering, computer networking, and electro-mechanical and software arts patent portfolios.
