In instances where litigation against an insurer becomes necessary, Richard leverages his comprehensive understanding of insurance claims and underwriting procedures to exert strategic pressure and secure favorable results. His approach is focused on delivering targeted advocacy that is both results-driven and efficient, employing his extensive experience and firm’s resources to craft and implement strategies that maximize recoveries and streamline legal services. Richard has consistently upheld policyholder rights, successfully obtaining considerable recoveries and fee-shifting awards.
Richard also provides guidance on essential risk management decisions prior to the emergence of claims, supporting businesses in the selection and acquisition of insurance products by drawing upon his experience managing disputed claims. He also performs insurance policy audits to confirm that proposed policy language aligns with risk management objectives established during the underwriting process.
Before pursuing a legal career, Richard worked as a claims analyst for a third-party administrator (TPA), where he oversaw training for claims analysts and managed complex claims operations. Additionally, he was employed as a financial analyst at an industry-leading financial analytics firm, acquiring valuable skills in corporate financial analysis.
