Ruchi Behera is the Pro Bono Fellow for the City of Newark. In this capacity, she assists Newark residents with their unmet civil legal needs and works to expand the capabilities of the firm’s pro bono practice. Ruchi primarily focuses on representing immigrants on their pending Asylum Office and Immigration Court matters. She also works with veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and low-income tenants with their legal matters.
Ruchi’s experience includes serving as an intern for the United States Attorney’s Office, where she assisted in defending the civil rights of New Jersey residents. She also worked for the Detention, Deportation, Defense Initiative at Seton Hall University School of Law and has experience in serving people expunging their criminal records.
