Sofia Camara represents manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies in complex product liability related matters.
Before joining McCarter, Sofia served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Anne M. Patterson, Supreme Court of New Jersey. As a law clerk, she prepared bench memoranda, drafted memoranda recommending granting or denying petitions for certification, and assisted in editing and revising Justice Patterson’s opinions.
During law school, Sofia served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Freda L. Wolfson, U.S.D.J. (ret.), U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey; provided direct services, including relief from removal and applications for asylum and refugee status in the Immigrant Rights Clinic; and participated on the Moot Court Board and was a semi-finalist of the Nathan Baker Mock Trial Competition.
Sofia was the Co-President of the Association of Latin American Law Students, a Rutgers Teaching Associate for the Legal Analysis, Writing, Research, and Skills course, and the Commentaries Editor for the Rutgers University Law Review.
In addition to her practice, Sofia maintains an active pro bono docket, representing clients through pro bono programs like Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and the Veterans Consortium.
