Talia Azzaretto focuses on estate planning as well as estate and trust administration. She enacts sophisticated planning strategies tailored to her clients’ goals, including maximizing tax savings, planning for medical needs or long-term care, avoiding family conflict, carrying out charitable giving, providing financial security to loved ones, and keeping assets out of the wrong hands.
Estate plans vary widely depending on the complexity of a client’s assets, family make-up, life stage, and overall goals. Talia strives to educate her clients to ensure they are fully informed of the various planning strategies available to them, that they consider appropriate issues in selecting fiduciaries, and that they understand the potential impact their planning decisions may have on their assets and their loved ones during life and after death.
During the administration process as well, when clients encounter complex legal processes and documents, Talia deftly guides them through the legal terminology, fiduciary responsibilities, probate logistics, and tax reporting details. “Particularly on the planning side, discussions with clients can be quite conceptual, yet the work of creating a customized estate plan has a very tangible impact. My role in the process can feel a bit like a puzzle, making the right pieces fit within the framework of the client’s objectives. When it’s completed, the true service I can provide to clients is peace of mind.”
Outside of work, Talia is part of Project Citizenship, a Boston non-profit agency that provides free, high-quality legal services to help permanent residents become U.S. citizens. She is a member of the organization’s Advisors & Ambassadors and has served as a volunteer attorney at workshops, reviewing citizenship applications.
