Dr. Yanjun (Yan) Feng is a registered patent agent with more than ten years of research experience in the areas of immunology, microbiology, cancer biology, bioinformatics, and pharmaceutical sciences. Yan drafts, files and prosecutes US and foreign patent applications for life sciences, including antibodies, vaccines, oligonucleotides, gene therapies, cancer therapies, neurological disorder therapies, autoimmune disease therapies, diagnostic assays, tissue engineering, and biomarkers screening assays.
Yan manages global IP portfolios and identifies IP strategies for clients, licensees, and inventors from research institutes and biotechnology companies. She assists clients with patent validity opinions, landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate opinions, and IP due diligence evaluations.
Yan completed her PhD degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research focused on signaling pathways that regulate NK cells and T cells in response to herpesvirus infection. During her doctoral training, Yan published articles in leading biomedical journals, including The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Immunology, and Immunity. She received her M.S. degree in Biochemistry at George Washington University, where she studied on microRNA and protein biomarkers for cancer and infectious diseases.
Yan interned at Emory University’s Office of Technology Transfer. She evaluated patentability and commercial viability of inventions and performed market analysis to identify market size, competitors, and potential licensees.
