McCarter & English welcomed partner Diana Manning to its Newark office. Diana is a commercial litigator and serves as Second Vice President of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
In an interview with the New Jersey Law Journal, Diana discussed her plans to expand her work in complex commercial litigation, appellate advocacy, and legal ethics at McCarter. She also described the development of her ethics and compliance practice, which focuses on helping lawyers and organizations navigate professional responsibility issues. “In the last couple of years, I have launched an ethics and compliance practice, and that’s really multi-level. It’s very difficult to practice law now; if you work at a bigger firm, you have a general counsel and maybe a general counsel team that you can go to. But most lawyers are trying to navigate that themselves,” Diana said.
Diana is preparing to serve as President of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 2028 and praised McCarter’s historical connection to the organization. “I’m excited to be at a firm that has a long history of supporting the bar association. One of the things that I learned in doing some research about the firm is that Robert H. McCarter was the president of the New Jersey State Bar Association,” Diana said.
