David Kott Elected to be a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers

2.13.2020

David Kott was elected to be a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers at the Academy’s recent meeting.

The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts. Membership is by invitation only and limited to just 500 members in the United States. To be eligible, an attorney must have focused his or her practice substantially on appeals during at least the last 15 years. Candidates for membership must be nominated by a present Academy member, reviewed and approved by a Membership Evaluation Committee, and elected at a regular Academy meeting.

David is a highly experienced appellate lawyer, having argued nine matters in the New Jersey Supreme Court. He is designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. David has extensive experience in the areas of product liability and commercial litigation and he often acts as lead counsel representing large corporations in class actions, including cases alleging violations of New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act and Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act (TCCWNA), as well as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and environmental torts.
