WASHINGTON, April 26, 2022 – McCarter & English, LLP has expanded its Environment and Energy practice with the addition of F. Alvin “Al” Taylor as a partner. Taylor represents electric energy clients in transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters, including proceedings and rulemakings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and various state utility commissions.
“Al is highly regarded in the electric energy sector, and his in-depth regulatory and litigation experience will be of great value to clients,” said Ira Gottlieb, chair of McCarter & English’s Environment and Energy practice. “We’re excited to welcome Al to our McCarter team.”

He also negotiates and litigates matters involving wholesale and retail electric rates and other tariff issues, and counsels clients on matters related to regional transmission organizations and reliability standards.
According to Taylor, “McCarter has a strong reputation in the energy sector representing consumer interests. I am looking forward to joining such a deep bench of talented lawyers known for their professionalism and high level of client service.”
