Alvin Taylor represents a broad range of energy utilities and end-users of electric energy in transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters, including proceedings and rulemakings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and various state utility commissions. His clients range from rural electric cooperatives, generation and transmission utilities, and joint action agencies to large industrial consumers, power marketers, and financial institutions.
His transactional experience includes negotiating power purchase, interconnection, and transmission agreements and obtaining required regulatory approvals from FERC and other commissions. He also provides due diligence reviews for clients acquiring generating facilities and vertically integrated and transmission-only utilities.
Al negotiates and litigates matters involving wholesale and retail electric rates and other tariff issues. He also counsels clients on regional transmission organizations and on reliability issues, including registration and compliance matters.
