First Judicial District Names McCarter Attorneys to Pro Bono Roll of Honor

11.11.2016

The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania has named 16 McCarter & English attorneys to its 2016 Roll of Honor, which recognizes attorneys who have provided exemplary free legal services to underprivileged citizens in Philadelphia over the past year. The honorees were recognized at the First Judicial District 2016 Pro Bono Publico Awards & Roll of Honor Reception held on October 27, 2016, at City Hall in Philadelphia. The Pro Bono Roll of Honor was created under the auspices of the First Judicial District’s Pro Bono Committee, which includes members of the bench, bar and pro bono service providers. This award recognizes the tremendous efforts that these attorneys have undertaken in providing pro bono services to client or client groups who do not have the resources to pay for legal services.

When it comes to doing pro bono work among lawyers, there’s a broad spectrum of opinions. However at McCarter & English, LLP, Firm management promotes a culture that encourages pro bono work throughout the Firm. McCarter attorneys have demonstrated their commitment to community economic development by providing legal services to low-income owners of small businesses and non-profits that are serving the Philadelphia community. We maintain important links to the communities we serve, and our Pro Bono Program advances the goal of access to justice for those who do not otherwise have the resources to afford legal representation.
