McCarter’s government affairs practice experienced significant growth in revenue over the past year, surpassing the majority of lawyer-lobbying firms in New Jersey in 2021 and earning it a spot among the state’s top 10 lobbying firms for the first time.
“The team has worked methodically to achieve great results for clients, who have been loyal to us in return,” Artiles told Law360 Pulse. “Our goal is always to provide A+ service to our clients, and by doing so, we continue to generate client referrals, which is the greatest compliment we can ever receive.”
Another key to the firm’s government affairs team’s success is their ability to serve “both sides of the aisle,” according to William J. Palatucci, a partner in McCarter & English’s government affairs practice who joined the firm in August 2020.
The firm’s two strongest areas of success were technology and cannabis, followed by other major sectors like health care, transportation and education. The firm launched its government affairs practice internally in 2016 and later merged with the firm’s original lobbying subsidiary, McCarter Government Solutions, in 2019.
