McCarter & English partner Mark Salah Morgan is highlighting the stories and experiences of the Egyptian diaspora through Beyond the Nile, a podcast featuring conversations with leaders in business, medicine, law, and other professions.
Inspired by his own family’s journey to the United States, Mark created the podcast to preserve the story of his father’s migration from Egypt and to provide a platform for others in the diaspora to share their personal and professional journeys.
“Whether it’s faith, karma, grit or any number of features that contributed to it, at the end of the day this is intended to establish an archive for the next generation of Egyptians coming up to see how it is that the community has established itself here,” Mark told the New Jersey Law Journal.
As part of his litigation practice at the firm, Mark represents clients located in Egypt with interests in the United States, as well as clients in the United States who have interests in Egypt. He also advises businesses, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals in complex disputes.
“I hope people get to learn a little bit more about Egypt through these interviews,” he said. Through the conversations, he hopes to foster a deeper understanding of Egypt and its culture while highlighting the varied experiences of Egyptians around the world.
