McCarter & English announced that it has strengthened it’s healthcare practice in Newark, New Jersey, with the addition of Khaled “Kay” Klele.
“For a healthcare lawyer like me, McCarter is a natural choice,” Klele told Law360 Pulse. “It’s such an institution in New Jersey and beyond, and known for its close relationships in the healthcare industry – it’s a great place for me to continue to grow my practice among amazing lawyers.”
Klele advises clients on state and federal compliance issues including licensing, the corporate practice of medicine, self-referral and anti-kickback laws, Medicare and Medicaid and transparency laws, the firm said. He has expertise in the governance, structuring and operation of management service organizations, oversees facility licensings and handles disputes with health departments, the firm said, adding that Klele also assists clients with transactions including provider agreements, leasing arrangements and practice purchases and consolidation.
Scott A. Kobler, a healthcare group leader, said in a statement, “Kay’s broad experience advising clients in the healthcare space complements our existing practice and brings new capabilities to our healthcare and business clients across the firm’s platform.”
