McCarter obtained a favorable ruling from a Connecticut trial court on the Complex Litigation Docket for the new owners of the Cobbs Mill Inn restaurant property in Weston, CT, granting them immediate possession of the property, which they had obtained through a sale secured with the executor of the former owner’s estate and affirmed by a probate court, and evicting the current occupants, the former owner’s widow and her partner, who had made a number of efforts to overturn the sale and block access to the property. The court also awarded costs to the new owners, the Siguenzas, who plan to restore the historic property and maintain it as a restaurant as well as an event space. The ruling came after a three-day bench trial.
The McCarter team representing the Siguenzas included partners Joe Cherico and Adam Swanson.
Press coverage of the ruling includes articles in the Hartford Business Journal, Weston Today, 06880 Blog, CT Law Tribune, and CT Post.
