The owner of a luxury Casablanca hotel is asking a Delaware federal court to allow it to pursue evidence in Morocco as it looks to enforce a $60 million International Chamber of Commerce arbitral award against the alleged alter ego of its former hotel management company, which the arbitral panel found to have mismanaged the hotel. The hotel owner told the court that it needs this “highly relevant” evidence to bolster its claims that Starman Hotel Holdings LLC is the alter ego of that hotel manager Woodman Maroc SARL. The hotel owner says this means that the approximately $60 million award, which was issued against Woodman for letting the hotel fall “far below” a five-star standard, can be enforced against Starman.
