Christine Lydon, Chief Human Resources Officer, speaks with the New Jersey Law Journal about McCarter & English’s strong 2024 summer class of associates, and plans for 2025. This summer, McCarter hired more than double the number of summer associates it did in 2023.
“We hire our summer classes based on projected client demand and the needs of our practice groups. Looking at the near future, both of those metrics are trending up, so we are pleased to increase the size of our 2025 summer class,” Lydon said.
Lydon sees hiring summer associates as an investment in both the development of new attorneys and the firm’s future. She says McCarter’s summer program, ”is a special place to build a career.” She adds, “the numbers bear out that our summer associates feel the same way—so many of our current partners started their career as a McCarter summer associate.”
