Long-term care facilities in the US have experienced a whirlwind of regulatory changes from the federal government over the past few years with regards to minimum staffing requirements. One of the most notable changes is the “Nursing Home Minimum Staffing Rule,” which received significant backlash during the public comment phases of the proposal. Nevertheless, the 2024 Final Rule was finalized by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in May of 2024.
