United States Cybersecurity Requirements: How Companies Can Protect Their U.S. Aerospace Data

International Paris Air Show

6.20.2017

Alex Major and Franklin Turner spoke at the 2017 International Paris Air Show (Salon International De L’Aeronautique Et De L’Espace) held in Le Bourget, France June 19-June 25. As the only law firm speaking at the event, the McCarter team advised international participants on “United States Cybersecurity Requirements: How Companies Can Protect Their U.S. Aerospace Data from United States Regulatory Threats” The presentation provided European members of the U.S. defense industrial base insight into the dynamic cybersecurity, IT, security, privacy, and data protection standards impacting all United States aerospace and defense contractors. Much like what is set to happen with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, international contractors and subcontractors, along with their U.S.-based subsidiaries, are required to ensure the safeguarding of U.S. government data or risk significant penalties. The presentation simplified the complex maze of regulations, publications, and protocols the U.S. Government and the Department of Defense now require. Additional details on the presentation and the Show’s other notable speakers can found here: https://www.siae.fr/en/events/conferences.htm.
