McCarter’s Venture Capital & Emerging Growth Companies Practice lawyers empower clients throughout the development cycle—from ideation to creation, capitalization, implementation, commercialization, and monetization.
We are pleased to share several outstanding firm highlights this month. Five of our lawyers were recently elevated to partnership—Philip Amoa, Kevin Conoscenti, David Kane, Ryan Richman, and Matthew Uretsky epitomize the professionalism, skill, and commitment it takes to deliver excellent results for our clients. Philip and Matthew in particular focus on issues in the venture capital and emerging growth space. Philip was also named to Philadelphia Business Journal’s “2019 40 Under 40 Awards” list, which honors up-and-coming leaders across several industries, as well as the Philadelphia Bar Association’s 2019 “Business Law Section Giants of the Business Bar” list recognizing legal giants who have significantly influenced the practice of business law.
Chambers has ranked McCarter in the Startups and Emerging Companies area nationwide for 2019. Dave Sorin has been ranked as well, with clients describing him as “an indispensable partner who knows how to see the big picture. He is a trusted advisor to many people in the startup and venture capital community.”
Notable achievements from our clients and contacts have also made headlines. UK-based client My 1st Years has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the innovation category for its ability to personalize a range of children’s gifts and deliver them the next day. Hotshot will be creating video content with the American Bar Association’s M&A Committee to develop lawyers’ legal and business skills. The content will focus on M&A provisions, and feature mock negotiations and interviews with partners on the committee. Swoveralls, Inc., appeared on an episode of Shark Tank. A member of the Brooklyn Fashion & Design Accelerator, Swoveralls creates clothing that combines sweatpants and overalls in unique colors and styles. Hu-manity.co founder and CEO Richie Etwaru was featured in ROI-NJ for a special edition highlighting start-ups and disruptors in New Jersey.
