Obtained a favorable ruling and a damages award from a Connecticut Superior Court Judge for client Catherine M. Ferentini, finding that her prior law firm was negligent in failing to secure its email system at the time Ferentini was tricked into wiring $90,586 to a fraudster based on an email seemingly from her lawyer. Following a bench trial argued by Emily Gianquinto for Ferentini, the judge supported our negligence argument since the law firm failed to adhere to its own policies and procedures, despite a similar incident occurring with another client months prior, and awarded our client $90,586 in damages plus pretrial interest and may award attorneys’ fees at a future hearing.
