Alexis Martinez advises businesses on compliance with various state and federal data privacy and cybersecurity laws. She also assists clients with internal governance, risks assessments, and data breach mitigation and response.
Alexis previously served as a law clerk in the Data Privacy & Identity Theft Unit of the Office of the Indiana Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. She holds a master’s degree in Cybersecurity Risk Management and, as part of her capstone project, worked closely with the Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity to advise on current literature for cybersecurity best practices in municipal government. Alexis serves as a KnowledgeNet Chair for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Indiana KnowledgeNet Chapter and is responsible for coordinating networking events and educational meetings which offer CPE credit. Alexis obtained the CIPP/US certification from the IAPP demonstrating a strong understanding in US privacy laws and regulations, as well as an understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible transfer of personal data to and from the US.
