Benjamin DiLorenzo represents businesses and professionals in all aspects of litigation—from pre-suit negotiations, through trial and appeal. Foremost is his representation of attorneys with respect to ethics and compliance matters, and in defense of disciplinary actions and complex legal malpractice claims. Beyond attorney ethics and professional liability, Benjamin regularly litigates complex contract and commercial disputes, insurance coverage matters, products liability disputes, professional liability claims, and the defense of consumer and environmental class actions in both state and federal courts.
In his ethics practice, Benjamin’s provides advice on a broad range of issues ranging from compliance with attorney advertising regulations, conflicts of interest, and trust and business accounting, to issues attendant to law firm creation and attorney separation from firms. He has also counseled corporate legal departments on conflict and licensing issues. Drawing on his experience as a former member of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District XA Ethics Committee, he also regularly defends lawyers in disciplinary matters. His broad-based litigation experience also enables him to defend lawyers facing legal malpractice claims arising in various practice areas.
Benjamin is the current President of Trial Attorneys of New Jersey – a statewide bar association dedicated to the service of the state’s trial attorneys and the jury trial system. He is also a frequent speaker and author on issues related to attorney ethics and trial practice, and is involved in various pro bono initiatives.
