Clients rely on Christopher Drewry to help them prevent and resolve legal issues critical to their business concerns, including addressing labor and employment, construction, and commercial law and litigation matters. Chris navigates clients through varied commercial concerns and disputes, including contractual issues and business or economic torts, to find the optimal solution in or out of court. Chris counsels clients on an array of labor and employment issues, including drafting employee handbooks and employment contracts, advising on wage and hour compliance, and managing hiring, discipline, and termination issues. He handles employment discrimination claims as well as labor law issues involving grievances, unfair labor practices, bannering and striking issues, and alter ego/successor liability issues.
Active in the construction industry sector, Chris represents owners, contractors, and subcontractors in drafting and negotiating construction contracts and addressing disputes involving project delivery systems, performance, and payments, including project delays, defaults, and mechanic’s liens.
Chris is an active member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) where he is past Chair of the Construction Law Committee, a member of the faculty for the IADC’s 49th Annual Trial Academy, and is an IADC Foundation Board Member. He is an active member of the OneZone Chamber of Commerce and is also a member of industry trade associations, including the Construction Specifications Institute and Associated General Contractors. A frequent author and speaker on labor and employment, construction law, and general litigation issues, his articles appear in Modern Contractor Solutions and other publications.
