Ms. Mohan chairs the firm’s Products Liability, Mass Torts and Consumer Class Actions group. She was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee from 2010 to 2016 and served on the firm’s Compensation Committee in 2015. She started our Hartford office in 2001 and was its managing partner until 2003. In 2011, Ms. Mohan became the first woman to serve as Treasurer for the firm, and in that capacity, is also the Chair of the Finance Committee. She is also a member of the Diversity Committee.

Her primary areas of practice are complex product liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical, environmental, and personal injury litigation. She represents multinational companies throughout the United States. She is a member of the national counsel team representing a global pharmaceutical company. Ms. Mohan is New England Regional Counsel for a Fortune 100 company and National Counsel for a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company.

Ms. Mohan is recognized by clients and peers as one of the most experienced asbestos defense lawyers in the Northeast, having developed strategies for resolving thousands of cases nationally over the past 27 years. She has represented scores of manufacturing companies, coordinating their asbestos litigation throughout the country, including in Texas, New York, California, Oregon, Washington, the Midwest and East Coast. As lead trial counsel, she has tried cases to verdict in various states, including consolidated trials with hundreds of plaintiffs. Ms. Mohan has also participated in settlement negotiations involving single plaintiffs, as well as so-called “group,” “inventory,” and “matrix” agreements encompassing hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of claims.

Over the years, she has had extensive dealings with every major law firm representing asbestos claimants and developed a network of relationships across the country which provides a great resource for handling the ever-changing litigation, emergent issues, and to serve as referral/local counsel. In the past decade, Ms. Mohan’s mass tort litigation matters have involved all manner of causative agents including radiation, benzene, and pharmaceuticals. For example, since 2008, she has conducted depositions nationwide of plaintiffs and treating physicians in the anti-psychotic medications litigation. In 2008, Ms. Mohan successfully obtained summary judgment for a brand name pharmaceutical company in Connecticut. In 2005, as lead trial counsel for a global technology company, she favorably resolved hundreds of radiation cases filed in El Paso, Texas.

Ms. Mohan has been listed in the 2018-2019 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants. She has also been named the Best Lawyers' 2019 Hartford Lawyer of the Year.

She has been recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer in the 2006, 2007, and 2011-2018 editions in the Class Action/Mass Tort category. In 2010, Ms. Mohan was selected as one of the Connecticut Law Tribune's Women in the Law: High Achiever's Yearbook.
