The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office canceled claims of a CoreLogic Solutions LLC patent on a computerized method of appraising real estate, ruling after examining the patent under an America Invents Act review program that it claimed a nonpatentable abstract idea.
In a final decision in a proceeding instituted under the AIA’s business method patent review program, the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board concluded that CoreLogic’s patent claimed the abstract concept of determining a price range for real estate.
