“Jeff is a sophisticated IP transactional attorney, with exceptional experience in all facets of intellectual property, privacy, and complex technology transactions,” said McCarter’s Intellectual Property Practice Group Chair Jonathan Sparks. “He is particularly skilled in focusing the business, technology, and legal parties on the broad-view goals of the transaction. That’s an incredibly valuable and important service for clients.”
Deeply experienced with business-critical patents across the financial services, mechanical, electrical, computer science, and technology industry sectors, Mann advises on, negotiates, and structures license agreements; drafts opinions; and prosecutes patents and trademarks for industry-leading businesses and inventors. He is known for devising innovative and effective strategies that capture, evaluate, leverage, and protect his clients’ innovations.
“With more than a hundred intellectual property professionals across the firm’s offices, McCarter offers the equivalent of an IP boutique within a large, full-service firm, providing a good fit for my clients’ varied and wide-ranging needs,” said Mann. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining this team of top-tier practitioners.”
Clients frequently call on Mann to advise and conduct due diligence on the intellectual property, information technology, and privacy aspects of corporate, financial restructuring, real estate, structured finance, and insurance transactions. An International Association of Privacy Professionals designated Certified Information Privacy Professional (IAPP), Jeff also advises clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology matters, including data licensing, cloud services, and outsourcing issues. Jeff is a member of the IP transactions committee of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association and will join the Emerging Issues Committee of the International Trademark Association in 2024.
