Adam Saravay spoke on “New Jersey’s Equal Pay Act” at McCarter & English’s CLE program in Newark, NJ.
New Jersey’s Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act that went into effect on July 1, 2018, is the most sweeping statute of its kind in the country, as it covers pay inequities based on gender, race, national origin, age and disability, among other protected categories. They discussed the act’s onerous requirements and steps NJ employers can take to protect against employee claims under the act. The presentation also covered the burdensome reporting requirements applicable to certain state contractors.
