Hugh Murray and Emily Gianquinto speak on “Worker Activism and Union Organizing During and After COVID-19” at 1:00 p.m. EST as part of McCarter & English’s A Whole New World: Managing the Workforce During and After the COVID-19 Pandemic webinar series.
The COVID-19 pandemic has energized organized labor in a way not seen in a generation. Concerns over worker safety have been added to pre-existing anxiety over increasing income inequality to produce a potentially very fertile environment for unions and other collective worker activity. As employers emerge from the current economic shutdown, they need to understand the legal rights and responsibilities they have in the face of such activity in order to be able to most effectively develop a response.
