Dr. Daniel Jones is a patent attorney concentrating in the fields of life sciences. With a background in chemistry, he assists with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, and IP due diligence investigations for pharmaceutical clients.
Daniel studied organic chemistry and analytical chemistry under Dr. Mindy Levine at the University of Rhode Island where he focused on the synthesis, characterization, and analytical detection of uses of novel fluorescent conjugated polymers. He has also investigated metal organic frameworks (MOFs) — specifically how to covalently modify fully formed MOFs for the removal of small molecule toxicants from aqueous environments.
Daniel has taught extensively as both a teaching assistant at the University of Rhode Island and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College.
Daniel received his JD from Cardozo School of law. He served as a representative, patent chair, and vice-president of the Intellectual Property Law Society and as a staff editor and problem editor for the Cardozo Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition Honors Society.
