Maria DeOliveira focuses her practice on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. She represents creditors, trustees, and other parties in bankruptcy-related litigation. She represents lenders and other creditors in an array of litigation involving such issues as executory contract rights, preference and fraudulent conveyance claims, and contested claims.
Prior to entering private practice, her judicial clerkship experience includes work in New Jersey’s state court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey, where she conducted legal research and assisted in drafting judicial opinions and memoranda.
During law school, Maria represented parents of children with disabilities in various matters. For her service to the community, Maria has received the Congressional Award Gold Medal, which is the highest award given by the U.S. Congress to America’s youth. She also received the Girl Scout Gold Award and President’s Volunteer Service Award.
