Michele Vanderstreet is an experienced litigator who focuses her practice on alternative dispute resolution. She regularly participates in mediations and arbitrations and is instrumental in the growth of the firm’s alternative dispute resolution practice, supervising a significant portion of the firm’s New Jersey ADR docket. Michele also handles white collar criminal defense matters and complex commercial litigation for clients in the financial services and technology industries, as well as complex environmental and insurance broker litigation.
Michele joined the firm as an associate in 2001 after serving as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John C. Lifland, United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey.
In 2005, Michele joined Wachovia Bank’s Legal Division and served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel through 2008, at which time she returned to McCarter & English, LLP.
While in law school, Michele was the Editor-in-Chief of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal and published “State Voluntary Interview During Clemency Procedures Does Not Violate Due Process Protections or the Fifth Amendment Protection Against Compelled Self-Incrimination—Ohio Adult Parole Authority v. Woodward,” 9 Seton Hall Const. L.J. 1069 (Summer 1999).
