Michele Vanderstreet joined the firm as an associate in 2001 after serving as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John C. Lifland, United States District Court Judge for the District of New Jersey.
In 2005, Michele joined Wachovia Bank’s Legal Division and served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel through 2008, at which time she returned to McCarter & English, LLP.
Michele focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, financial services litigation, securities litigation, shareholder derivative litigation, and white collar criminal defense matters. Michele has also worked on complex environmental litigation and insurance broker litigation.
While in law school, Michele was the Editor-in-Chief of the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal and published “State Voluntary Interview During Clemency Procedures Does Not Violate Due Process Protections or the Fifth Amendment Protection Against Compelled Self-Incrimination—Ohio Adult Parole Authority v. Woodward,” 9 Seton Hall Const. L.J. 1069 (Summer 1999).
