Pamela Moore spoke to the New Jersey Law Journal about a recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action in higher education that could have fallout pertaining to workplace discrimination suits by white plaintiffs. Workplace discrimination suits on behalf of white plaintiffs have become more frequent, despite unpredictable reactions from jurors. Moore notes that these types of cases may bring new attorneys to the field of employment law, adding that we may “see more lawyers taking cases that they might not have taken [before the Supreme Court ruling]. I don’t know if the folks who are truly plaintiffs employment attorneys, who have for the last 20 years fought for the rights of minorities and women and the LGBTQ community, are going to start taking white people’s claims. They have been arguing the other side of the coin for years and years. So it may give entrée into this marketplace to a bunch of people who don’t typically work in the employment arena.”
