Alexander Kerr concentrates his practice in securities, insurance coverage, antitrust, telecommunications and complex commercial litigation.
Before joining McCarter & English, Alec was a founding partner at Philadelphia’s Hoyle, Morris & Kerr LLP, where he was a lead attorney in a wide variety of cases, especially in the securities area. His career has included service as Deputy Attorney General in the Pennsylvania Department of Justice.
Active in the field of legal education, Alec regularly teaches courses in trial advocacy for the Academy of Advocacy and the Philadelphia Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer in continuing legal education seminars for practicing lawyers.
Alec has successfully defended numerous securities, RICO and ERISA matters for some of the nation’s largest health care carriers; individuals and corporations in SEC insider-trading investigations; and several class action securities actions. He is experienced in handling litigation concerning insurance coverage and private equity matters, and has defended clients in complex commercial disputes.
