John Allen litigates real estate, product liability and other complex business disputes including single-plaintiff matters and class action. At the outset of a client representation, John works with his clients to clearly delineate their specific goals for a given matter and then utilizes the various tools of litigation and negotiation to achieve those goals as effectively and efficiently as possible.
John’s practice is primarily devoted to litigating real estate matters, including commercial and retail lease disputes, land and title defects, sale and acquisition actions, brokerage disputes, tax abatement proceedings, title insurance matters, condominium association actions, environmental and regulatory disputes, and other related business matters. John’s real estate litigation practice includes appearing in federal and state court, including the Massachusetts Land Court, in arbitration proceedings, and before the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board and other state regulatory and administrative agencies. John is also experienced in litigating Chapter 91 tidelands regulation issues before the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and in the state courts.
John also has a broad range of experience in business, financial services and product liability actions involving breaches of contract and warranty, breaches of fiduciary duties, claims for unfair and deceptive trade practices, torts, negligence and fraud.
As part of his practice, John represents Full Court Peace in certain pro bono matters. Full Court Peace is a non-profit organization dedicated to using basketball youth programs and teams to unite, strengthen and educate local and global communities.
Prior to attending Suffolk University Law School, John attended Hamilton College and high school at Noble & Greenough in Dedham, Massachusetts and is an active member of each school’s alumnae community.
Outside the office, John enjoys playing golf, traveling to Kennebunkport, Maine with his family in the summer and spending time with friends. John would also like to find more time to travel abroad visiting as many countries as he can.
