Timothy Salter has substantial experience representing financial institutions, loan servicers, and similar clients in consumer financial services litigation. Tim’s litigation experience includes disputes arising under New York state and local law and federal laws such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the US Bankruptcy Code.
Tim has substantial experience defending mortgage loan originators and sellers against indemnification and breach of representation claims arising from mortgage loan purchase and sale agreements. He also counsels clients on issues pertaining to mortgage loan servicing, compliance with various consumer statutes and regulations, and statutes of limitations, and regularly prosecutes title curative matters.
