Public and private real estate developers, owners, and landlords and tenants seek out Cynthia Keliher for her leadership in the New England commercial real estate market. Whether assisting clients with leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, or other real estate needs, Cynthia finds ways to close the transaction while meeting the clients’ business objectives. She helps clients address a full range of commercial real estate matters, including those concerning leasing, financing, zoning, development, permitting, tax abatement, foreclosures and loan workouts and commercial and residential condominiums.

Co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Cynthia focuses a great deal of her practice on leasing, representing landlords and tenants in complex ground, retail, office and data center leases. Significant representations include representing: (a) a public authority concerning a Boston convention center hotel development project; (b) a large technology company in negotiating its Cambridge, Massachusetts headquarters lease and in advising on the company’s global leasing portfolio; and (c) a university regarding a ground lease and the permitting and construction of a state of the art boathouse.

Cynthia is very active in the commercial real estate sector. She currently serves as the immediate past President of the New England Chapter of CoreNet Global, an association of corporate real estate professionals with more than 9,000 members around the world managing more than $1.2 trillion in real estate and workplace assets across five continents. She is also past president of New England Women in Real Estate (NEWIRE), a non-profit organization created by a group of professional women to promote the advancement of women within the commercial real estate industry, consisting of over 400 members. Cynthia was appointed by Governor Cellucci in July of 1998 to serve as a member of the Blue Ribbon Panel for Open Space Protection to help set the priorities of the Commonwealth's Land Protection Program. In 1998, she was appointed by Mayor Menino, the Boston Redevelopment Authority and the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority to serve on the Strategic Development Study Committee for the Boston Extension Portion of the Turnpike Air Rights Development.

Active in community programs, Cynthia was a volunteer at Children's Hospital, has been a member of The Jimmy Fund Council of Greater Boston since 1989 and is a former Vice President of The Jimmy Fund Council.

Cynthia is co-chair of McCarter’s Women’s Initiative Steering Committee, which presides over the policies that have led to McCarter receiving Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for seven consecutive years.
