David Kane has more than a decade of experience representing policyholders seeking recovery under their insurance policies. His clients operate across a wide range of industries that includes manufacturers of consumer products, building materials, industrial technology, and food, as well as service providers and construction companies. He has successfully pursued claims under a variety of insurance policies, such as commercial liability, first-party property, directors and officers, and errors and omissions coverage.
David has secured recovery for both direct and additional insureds facing liabilities arising from products, toxic torts, environmental contamination, construction defects and injuries, and corporate management decisions. He handles complex insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, mediations, and arbitrations. He also has significant experience with disputes involving insurance producers.
In addition to his litigation work, David regularly provides counseling to clients on mitigating risk and laying the foundation to maximize future insurance recoveries.
David is committed to public service. He currently serves as an elected member of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education, for which he has been selected as Vice President during 2023. From 2016 through 2018, he served a three year term as an elected member of the Township Committee in Manalapan. He also previously served as an appointed member of Manalapan’s Planning Board and Environmental Commission.
David also routinely engages in pro bono work. He has helped secure political asylum in the New York City Immigration Court for refugees fleeing persecution in their home country. Through the ReLeSe program conducted by Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, he has successfully expunged criminal records for numerous individuals seeking employment.
