Tom is an accomplished trial lawyer and business litigator with three decades of experience handling complex business disputes on behalf of public and private companies in Connecticut and across the nation. He is well known among the Connecticut state and federal judiciary as a result of his courtroom presence and leadership within the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations.

Tom has prosecuted and defended clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters – patent infringement, trademark, copyright, trade secret, contract, business tort, computer privacy and security, restrictive covenant, trade regulation, unfair competition, and real estate claims. His clients include Fortune 500 manufacturers, technology companies, retailers, public and quasi-public agencies, professional service firms, financial institutions, construction firms, non-profit organizations, and high net worth individuals.

Tom's recent wins include (i) a $6.8 million jury verdict, including an award of attorneys’ fees, in a bad faith breach of contract and fiduciary duty case; (ii) a temporary restraining order and settlement restoring contract rights to manufacture engineered electrical cabinets for data centers around the country; (iii) defense of inequitable conduct claims before the USPTO; (iv) prosecution of an injunction action to enforce trade secrets and covenants against competition; (v) defense of a claim for breach of a distributorship agreement, resulting in withdrawal for no consideration on the eve of trial of all trademark, trade dress, false advertising, breach of contract, reformation and tortious interference claims; (vi) prosecution of legal malpractice, aiding and abetting, and negligent misrepresentation claims arising out of ENRON’s collapse; (vii) defense and extinguishment of easement claims regarding access to Long Island Sound; and (viii) prosecution of property damage claims, including the recovery of attorneys’ fees, arising out of a catastrophic fuel oil spill onto valuable real estate in Fairfield County. Tom has also recently served as an arbitrator in an international arbitration and as a mediator.

Tom has been recognized in Chambers USA from 2012-2019. Clients describe him as "very thorough, smart and tough,"a phenomenal courtroom lawyer," and “dogged in his pursuit of supporting and advocating for his client.

The Chairman of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Group wrote: “We have witnessed first-hand his skill as a litigator, his relentlessness as an advocate, his patience as a counselor, his integrity as a court officer, and his support as a friend.”
