Susan Okin Goldsmith focuses her practice on intellectual property. She handles software transactions and issues, as well as trademarks and copyrights, including global registration and enforcement strategy, domestic and foreign trademark clearance and registration, infringement matters, domain name issues, and intellectual property licensing. Susan handles a wide variety of matters involving software and other technology licensing, e-commerce and internet use and abuse, and issues involving purchase and sales of goods and services in domestic and international trade. Susan also has an extensive track record with respect to corporate and commercial business transactions, joint ventures and start-ups, including complex mergers and acquisitions and venture capital financing, handling substantial licensing and other intellectual property and technology issues.
Susan has been a long-time member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) of the US and Canada, where she has served as co-chair on the Software Licensing Committee and participated on several other committees and advisory boards, as well as the local NJ Chapter. She is a Certified Licensing Professional of the LES.
Susan is a graduate of the Rutgers Law School and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, where she majored in Marketing. She is the Past President of the Wharton Club of New Jersey and hosts the annual Entrepreneur Showcase. Prior to joining the firm, Susan was a partner at a business boutique law firm, and before that, at several international law firms. Earlier in her career she served as judicial clerk to the late Honorable William H. Walls, then of the New Jersey Superior Court and later of the United States District Court of New Jersey.
